Home Gardener Pledge

I pledge to grow some food in my own garden.  I also will maintain the garden using only environmentally friendly fertilizers and pesticides.

Sometimes, there are too many of some vegatables to eat before they go bad. This is a perfect time to share with friends and family. 

As an added component of this pledge, I will tell others about the benefits of home gardening.

I Compost

Composting is a method of turning ordinary yard and food waste directly into a rich growing medium.  Public agencies use compost for landscaping highway median strips, parks, recreational areas, and other public property and remediating contaminated or eroded sites. Homeowners use mature compost to enrich gardens, improve the soil around trees, use as soil additive for house plants and as a protective mulch.  Organic farmers use compost for enhancing crops and for sod farms.

Use Renewable Energy Pledge

I pledge to use renewable energy as much as possible. I promise hereby to reduce my environmental impact by using renewable energy sources.

As an added part of this pledge, I promise to reach out to those who have questions or apprehension about adopting renewable energy.

I pledge to have a diet that is vegan, vegetarian, or mostly vegetarian as a way to reduce my environmental impact.

As an added part of this pledge, I promise to help debunk the myths about nutrition regarding vegetarian diets as well as try to reach out to those who may not know how being a vegetarian or vegan makes a tremendous way to lower their impact.

Lower My Impact Pledge

I pledge to be a lower impact consumer. I promise hereby to reduce my environmental impact by implementing as many environmentally friendly consumer choices as I can.

As an added part of this pledge, I promise to reach out to those who may not know how much of an immediate difference consumer choices can make.
