Remember when you were asked every time you purchased your groceries the simple question, "Paper or Plastic?" A simple question but no so simple decision. Once the environmental issues of plastic became more known, many answered proudly~ "Paper!" As if that clearly was the better choice. It has to be, right, I mean it is afterall paper. Nice, easily recyclable paper. Plastic bags clutter landfills, flap from the tree tops in the breeze, line garbage cans, destroy our aquatic life, and are so much more work to recycle than lovely, paper.
Okay so here we go. Not only will changing the way you clean save you & your families health, but our planet too! That's a lot of what being green is about~ a healthier world & a healthier you~
Here's what I am going to do: List a common household cleaner, it's negative effects on our health & the planet, and then show you a non-toxic, safe & green alternative.

Go green in your home! Think about it, It is where we spend most of our time.
Okay, I don't mean to scare you but did you know that the indoor air (in our homes!) is 5X more polluted than outside air?
AND also that the chemicals from the cleaners we use in our homes are 3X more likely to cause cancer than the air outside? Yikes! How about the fact that women who stay home have a 54% higher rate of cancer (from those toxins/cleaners) than the women who work outside of the home.
What can be done about this??
What good is it to eat organic food while using air fresheners, pesticides, poison laden personal care items upon their person and to clean their home? It’s as if they assume that if they ingest organic food it will mitigate the effects of their external environment. That they are creating a protective bubble around themselves from the inside out.
I am watching good old CNN and their coverage of Barack Obama's Train Tour - leading up to the historic inauguration. There's so much potential for change during his term as President.
