We can supply all energy using only renewable methods

I took a trip to Las Vegas, NV with my most recent and favorite employer. Las Vegas is a city that most people "need" to go to at least once in their lives, but I never felt this way.  Beside the gambling, sex, drugs and rock & roll, Las Vegas represents mostly bad qualities to me such as waste and useless consumption.  Since I am very happily married, and I'd never gamble (because I subscribe to probabilities), Las Vegas is somewhere that I would have never gone if my awesome employer wasn't footing the bill.

The greatest single thing that I did there was take a tour bus trip to Hoover Dam.

Hoover Dam - low water level by over 50 feet

It was inspiring to see something that is considered one of the new wonders of the world.  To add to this inspiration, it has always been one of the largest renewable energy suppliers.  There's no smoke stacks above the power turbines -- it is just converting gravity's effect on water into power - genius!

In any case, I thought that the water level looked very low based on the white mineral deposits around the lake.

The intakes looked like they could potentially generate more power with more water, but the tour guide insisted that this wasn't the case.

Here's a couple of the better pictures from the trip.

I really thought that the dam would be bigger than it was.  Because of this, I am given great hope that renewable energies can supply all of our needs.  We just need to start to investing in our own future.
